KenoAction for the Wild has proudly been supporting the Orangutan Foundation since 2010. Our funds have gone towards supporting a vet and helping the costs associated with moving Orangutans between areas, such as, fuel, medication and food. With such fantastic work being done every year we have continued to support this project in 2014.

News from the field highlights the success of the volunteer programme with the newest volunteers arriving at the beginning of August 2014. After spending a few days settling in, the team have already got stuck in and are learning new building techniques to help the Indonesian staff renovate a guard post.

These posts are used as a base for patrols of the Tanjung Puting National Park and the Lamandau Wildlife Reserve as well as acting as visible deterrents to people entering the park illegally, the guards who use these posts aim to protect the surrounding Orangutan habitat and its inhabitants.
